from the 1st XI taking on
Charlton Kings at the weekend.
The 2nd XI
recorded their 9th win of the
season with a home victory of
the season. Their cause
was aided by Badminton only
turning up with 9 players
although those that did show up
for the visitors certainly put
in a good fielding performance
as they restricted the hosts to
166 from their 40 overs.
The ever-reliable Graham
Vinnicombe top scored with 63
whilst Matty Genever (37) and
Mark Gardiner (27) were the
other main contributors.
In reply,
Mark Gardiner did the damage
again with the ball taking 4-19
from his 10 overs. His son
Joe, Rich Mendum and Jonny
Johnson were the other wicket
takers as Badminton reached a
gallant 119. It would
surely take a freak set of
results to deny the 2nd XI
promotion this season, although
this is Poulton we're talking
about so a couple more wins
should settle it.
